QUAD CITIES - A Bennett, Iowa man was killed in Monday's multi-vehicle crash on I-74 several miles from the Quad City Airport.
KWQC TV6 reports that just before 11:15 a.m., a semi driven by 78 year old Marlin Hillyer of Bennett was heading west on I-74 and lost control on the icy road. His semi went through the median and rolled onto its side. It blocked both lanes of eastbound I-74.
A semi was unable to sop and hit Hillyer's semi. A third driver, 24 year old Dylan Columbia of Missouri also struck the semi.
Hillyer died at the scene. The other drivers and passengers were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
