Davenport police investigating 2 armed robbery incidents

The Davenport Police Department is investigating two armed robbery incidents that happened over the weekend.

Police say just after 8:30 Saturday night, officers were called for a report of an armed robbery to Smokin’ Joe’s on W Locust Street. Investigators say preliminary information showed that a male suspect entered the business, implied he had a weapon and demanded money from the clerk. Police say the suspect fled after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. Police say the suspect is described as a black male, 5′10, 165 pounds, last seen wearing a white dress shirt, white pants and a blue surgical mask over his face.

Police say then just after 9:00 Sunday night, officers were called out on a report of an armed robbery to a QC Mart on Eastern Avenue. Preliminary information from that scene describes a male suspect entering the business, implying he has a weapon and again demanding money from the clerk. Police say the suspect fled the business after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. Police say the suspect was described as a black male, 5′7, 130 pounds, last seen wearing a dark shirt, dark pants, black stocking cap and a black face mask.
