(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Crews are installing replacement parts for the National Weather Service's Cedar Rapids weather radio station antenna today, and just in the nick of time, as severe weather is forecast for the weekend.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Ed Holicky says up to three inches of rain, hail, damaging winds, and possibly tornadoes are forecast between early Friday, and Sunday night.

He expects repair crews to have the station back on the air Thursday afternoon.
