A portion of I-74 was shut down after a deadly accident Wednesday morning. Illinois State Police say that a two semi-trucks were westbound just south of I-80 when someone walked out from in front of a vehicle that was stopped. That person crossed the right lane if the interstate and continued into the left lane.
A semi driver was not able to stop and hit the person. The driver of a second semi couldn't stop and also hit the pedestrian. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation continues.
