Update: The Mt. Carroll Police Department confirmed that the body of a man was located near the Carroll Creek Bridge Monday.The cause of death is not yet known and the man has not yet been identified. Lanark Police Department and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services assisted in the investigation.
There was a large police presence along a river in Mt. Carroll Monday morning. They include officers with the Illinois State Police and from the Mt. Carroll Police Department. Several of the officers were at a bridge but no further details are available at this time. Officers stated they would provide details at a later time.
