ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Everything is back to normal after a brief lockdown at Rock Island High School Wednesday morning.
School officials tell KWQC TV6 that staff at the school was alerted by students that overheard another student say something that was believed to be a threat. Police were called and the school was locked down at 8:25 a.m. Normal operations resumed at 9 a.m. after it was determined the threat was not credible.
Police say the high school liaison responded with additional officers and conducted an investigation.
Apparently, a hospital was also on lockdown as a precaution.
