Thanks to two Illinois senators and one representative, the Moline Amtrak train is alive. The politicians got the federal grant money extended for 5 years. 5 more years.
The depot and hotel are done. There is no train. Lots of money spent, and no train.
The train will never make money. It must be given a taxpayer subsidy every year.
How we we ever get to Chicago without it?
