DAVENPORT, Iowa - A Davenport family lost their home and two pets in a fire Friday morning at W. Locust and Fairmount Street.
Davenport Fire investigators say two people lived in the home but they were not there when the fire started. A dog and a cat inside did die in the fire.
The Red Cross is assisting the two residents with immediate needs. The cause of the fire is not known.
