DAVENPORT, Iowa - We have plenty of snow. Reports around the Quad Cities area range from 3 inches near Moline, Illinois to 5.3 inches at the Quad Cities Airport in Davenport, but at the time of this report Saturday morning, snow is still falling so totals will likely be higher. We did get the layer of ice, as predicted, generally 1/8 of an inch. There are very high winds following the snow.
A Winter Storm Advisory is in effect in and surrounding the Quad Cities area and along the I-80 corridor both to the east and west of the Quad Cities.
In North Central and Northwestern Iowa a Blizzard Warning is in effect, including the I-35 corridor from north of the Des Moines area (Ames) to the Minnesota border, and on into Minnesota.
Like they say.... that's not all.
The temperature will start dropping today, and by late tonight into Sunday morning we'll fall below zero overnight, with dangerous wind chills. Daytime highs will be in the single digits for the next couple days.
