A Dixon man has been arrested after Sterling Police say he called the Department of Children and Family Services’ Office and said he was going to blow it up.
30 year old Darrius Garcia was arrested on Wednesday for disorderly conduct. According to police, Garcia called the DCFS office just before 4:00 p.m. and said he was in the parking lot, had a bomb and was going to blow them up.
Police said they cordoned off and searched the area but did not find Garcia or his vehicle. About an hour later, police say they received a call of an intoxicated Hispanic man walking in the area of East End Shell.
Officers found the man, identified as Garcia, and took him into custody. Police say the threat made by Garcia was over an ongoing DCFS investigation. He's being held pending a bond hearing in Whiteside County Court.
