The Annual Blue Grass Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is fun for the whole family. Santa will be there to hear wishes along with food, games, and entertainment. Donations accepted for those in need. The Christmas season is fast approaching which means it will soon be time for the Annual Blue Grass Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony! The Blue Grass Park Board and The Blue Grass Community Club have partnered again to organize the festivities. We will gather at the tree outside, located at the southeast corners of N. Mississippi and E. Orphed Streets and upon Santa's 5pm arrival, we will light the tree. After the lighting we will proceed into the Blue Grass Community Club, 232 E. Orphed Street, for refreshments, games and entertainment. Santa will be up on stage to greet all of the kids and hear their wishes. This year we have some special performances lined up by dancers from Jenny's Dance Academy and singing by our local girl scouts. There will also be some games (with prizes) for the kids. In the spirit of the season for giving, we are asking for donations to help those in need. The Blue Grass Community Charitable Drop Off Program is seeking donations to help the homeless as well as pets in need. Donations of underwear, socks, hats, gloves and non-perishable food items for those in need will be collected. We will also be collecting pet supplies, food, bedding, etc. Please help us take care of those less fortunate.
