A State of Insanity

Insanity is paying 9 to 12 percent interest in 2017. Who would do such a thing?

Illinois.

Illinois must pay, by law, 9 to 12 percent interest on overdue bills. Illinois is now, in June, paying bill for October 2016. The total amount past due is $14.5 billion.

There is $800 million interest due on the state's unpaid bills. 800 million dollars.

That is a state of insanity.
