Mata Hari Works for the New York Times

Mata Hari was a Dutch exotic dancer and courtesan who was convicted of being a spy for Germany during World War I and executed by firing squad in France.

A young female reporter started a relationship with a Senate Intelligence Committee staff member. She got information from him that let her rise from unpaid intern to Buzzfeed to Politico to the stately New York Times.

He has been indicted and arrested for lying to the FBI about her.

History repeats itself.

There will be no firing squad.
