WASHINGTON D.C. - President Trump says all Americans should get to share in the good economy.
"We're by far the biggest economy in the world." Trump says.
He says Opportunity Zones will help boost high-poverty areas. Iowa has nearly three-dozen Opportunity Zones.
"It's really a crucial part of our new tax law to help low-income Americans." Trump says. "As you know, this vital provision gives businesses a massive incentive to invest and create jobs in our nation's most under-served communities."
Iowa has about three-dozen Opportunity Zones. See map, above, from Iowa Department of Economic Development.
In Nebraska, 18 counties have Opportunity Zones. CLICK HERE for the interactive Nebraska map.
Illinois has dozens of Opportunity Zones, including one area in the Quad Cities. CLICK HERE for the interactive Illinois map.
Areas with a poverty rate of 20 percent or greater and/or family income less than 80 percent of the area’s median income are eligible for Opportunity Zone investment.
