DES MOINES, Iowa - The man arrested by Des Moines Police who is being held in the Polk County Jail is being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Polk County Sheriff's Department confirms the ICE detainer. Although the Sheriff's office will not give any further info on the detainer, it generally means a suspect is being investigated for immigration status.

31-year-old Marvin Oswald Esquivel-Lopez has been arrested and charged in the deaths of 29-year-old Rossibeth Flores-Rodriguez, her 11-year-old daughter Grecia Daniela Alvarado-Flores and her five-year-old son Jose Mejia-Flores.

Their bodies were found in their home in the 1000 block of Day Street around 11:00 Tuesday night. Police say the three were shot to death.

Police say Esquivel-Lopez shared the home with Flores-Rodriguez and her family but they didn’t have a domestic relationship.
