Iowa OSHA Fines ADM In Clinton After January's Deadly Explosion

Iowa OSHA completed their investigation into the explosion at Archer Daniels Midland on January 5th that led to the death of one firefighter and injured another.

The report found no violations by the Clinton Fire Department. Lt. Eric Hosette was killed and Firefighter Adam Cain was seriously injured in that explosion.

KWQC TV6 reports Iowa OSHA did find violations by ADM and an outside contractor, Bill Whitters Construction LLC. Two inspections in ADM and BWC remain open. Both are contesting the findings of OSHA.

Iowa OSHA reports they found five violations involving ADM and ordered them to pay $55,894. Iowa OSHA also cited BWC for one penalty that included a fine of $7,760.
