Gun Discharges In Man's Pocket While Running From Davenport Police

There was a lot of activity at the Love's Truck Stop on Northwest Boulevard in Davenport Friday.

Davenport Police arrested 27 year old Terrance Mason for possessing a firearm as a felon and interference with official police acts.

Police say that Mason was carrying a loaded handgun with an extended magazine when he ran from police officers. The gun was in Mason's pocket and at some point it discharged. The round hit the pavement of the parking lot in the gas island.

Police say Mason was taken into custody after a brief struggle. There were no injuries.

Mason has convictions dating back to 2012 when he was arrested for a controlled substance violation. That prohibits him from possessing a firearm.
