Clinton Schools Sued After Playground Injury

A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a student that was injured on a playground at a school at 716 N 2nd Street in Clinton in May of 2017.

The lawsuit was filed by Lisa Nelson on behalf of a minor child identified as B.S.N. The student was apparently playing on the playground when he “cut his knee on a metal pipe or other piece of metal equipment protruding from the playground, thereby sustaining injuries, harms, losses, and damages.”

The lawsuit claims that the Clinton School District failed to maintain a safe "premise" and failed to correct the dangerous condition. The lawsuit also seeks monetary damages that include past and future medical expenses, past and future lost wages and payment for pain and suffering.

The plaintiff is demanding a jury trial.

Clinton Community Schools confirmed to KWQC TV6 it received the lawsuit but would not comment on "pending litigation".
