Davenport Man Accused Of Trying To Shoot At Playground

DAVENPORT, Iowa - A Davenport man is charged with assault while displaying a weapon and going armed with intent - both felony charges after an incident on September 27th at a playground.

Davenport police say 26 year old Michael Dora was at a playground near the Westview Terrace Apartments when he approached a man who was there with his young son. Dora apparently started an argument with the man over a video game when Dora pulled out a gun and threatened the man.

The victim fought back and tried to take the gun but unsuccessful so he grabbed his son and ran. Police say Dora then pointed the gun at the man and pulled the trigger but the magazine had fallen out. The man and his son were able to get away.

KWQC TV6 reports that the incident was caught on surveillance video.
