Threat On Social Media Shut Down Easton Valley School

JACKSON COUNTY, Iowa - There was no school today at Easton Valley after a social media threat was made Thursday night.

KWQC TV6 reports that the Jackson County Sheriff's Office was notified of the post by the district around 10 p.m. They were able to identify the student by tracing the Snapchat account. Members of the community who saw the snap also assisted by providing information.

Law enforcement went to the student's home and they took one person into custody. They say that a mask and a weapon that were seen on the Snapchat post were found in the home.

The investigation continues and police are looking to see if others were involved.
