DAVENPORT, Iowa - Charges have been amended against a 15 year old boy after a fight at Davenport's West High School on Monday.
The 15 year old suspect had been charged with assault causing serious injury, a felony. He was cited and then turned over to a parent.
KWQC TV6 reports that on Friday, those charges were changed. The boy is now charged with willful injury, which is still a felony and assault with a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.
The victim's mother, Theresa Wallenhosrt told TV6, "I don't call it a fight because Charlie was not able to defend himself. The videos that I saw clearly showed Charlie being attacked."
At a news conference, school officials say there was medical staff in the building and they followed protocol in place.
