BETTENDORF, Iowa - A 12 year old girl continues to recover after she was hit by a vehicle in Bettendorf last Friday.
Bettendorf Police were called to the Bettendorf Middle School in the afternoon hours after a student was hit crossing Spruce Hills Drive towards Culvers.
KWQC TV6 reports that while crossing the street, the girl turned around and started retracing her steps. That is when she was hit by a 15 year old driver. Witnesses tell police the accident couldn't have been prevented as the pedestrian made a quick change of direction.
The girl struck will be okay. The 15 year old driver was ticketed for violation of a minor's school restricted license.
