GRINNELL, Iowa - An Iowa man is sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for receiving child pornography. John Urfer of Grinnell was sentenced in U.S. District Court Tuesday.
KWQC TV6 reports Urfer pleaded guilty to the charge last July and admitted he received child pornography from September of 2017 to April of 2018. More than 1,300 images and over 2,900 videos were found.
Urfer also admitted to having prior convictions for assault with intent to commit sex abuse in Marion County. That dates back to 2003. Urfer has two convictions for failing to comply with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.
