Bettendorf Casino Fined And Mom Convicted Of Taking Teen Inside

BETTENDORF, Iowa - The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission fined the Isle of Capri Casino in Bettendorf $10,000.

KWQC TV6 reports they were fined because a mother took her underage son onto the gambling floor.

Casino General Manager Nancy Ballenger said the 17 year old minor had been turned away at the door twice. The casino claims that on August 31, 2019, Danielle Skrogstad then distracted staff and her 17 year old son was able to sneak inside. He was inside for about two hour, according to Vegas Slots Online.

A stipulation agreement between the casino and the Racing and Gaming Commission states the teen may have gambled at the time. Casino staff was informed the teen was on the gambling floor after Skrogstad told them "in an attempt to gain something of value" from the casino.

Skrogstad was charged with and convicted for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
