Marshalltown Says Three City Workers Are Positive for COVID-19

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - Marshalltown says three city employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

It's not releasing the names of the people or their roles with the city because of privacy concerns.

Marshalltown says it's taken steps to ensure the safety of its workforce, such as deep cleaning all offices and work spaces, and practicing social distancing.

The city says its offices are closed, but many services are still available by phone or email.

“We recognize that many functions of local government are essential, and we are listening to our team members to determine the safest way to continue operations during this time period,” said Marshalltown City Administrator Jessica Kinser in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have tested positive as well as their families.”
