Woman Injured In Davenport Shooting

A woman is recovering after being shot in Davenport late Tuesday night.

Davenport Police were called to the scene near 6th and Oak street just after 10 p.m. for a report of gunfire. While officers were on the scene, 9-1-1 dispatch reported that a woman showed up at Genesis East Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police say there was a dispute between the occupants of two vehicles near the intersection of 6th and Oak streets which led to shots being fired from at least one of the vehicles.

One of the involved vehicles transported the woman to the hospital for treatment. Officers were able to meet with the occupants of that vehicle to get statements. Police reported that the vehicle was damaged by gunfire.

The second involved vehicle is described as a white sports car, possibly a Dodge with black stripes, but no other information has been released.
