An early Monday morning fire damaged multiple garages in a Moline neighborhood.
Moline firefighters were called to a structure fire at the 1100 block of 22nd Street just after 4:00, where firefighters found a fully involved garage fire with an exposure garage next to it burning as well.
The fire department says both fires were extinguished in about 20 minutes, but neighbors did have to be evacuated during that time. The total damage is estimated to be approximately $50,000 to both garages, the contents of both which included a motorcycle and a minivan, and melted siding to the resident’s home and neighboring residence.
No injuries were reported.
An investigation was completed by the Moline Fire Department and ruled the cause as undetermined. The fire department was assisted by the Moline Second Alarmers, MidAmerican Energy Co. and the Rock Island Fire Department.
