Iowa Justice Reform bill signed into law

DES MOINES, Iowa- Governor Kim Reynolds has signed Justice Reform Bill into law. The measure was prompted by the police custody of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and was introduced, debated, and passed in just one day, passing with unanimous support in both the Iowa House and the Iowa Senate.

The "Plan For A More Perfect Union" law bans most choke holds, allows the Iowa Attorney General to investigate officers whose actions result in death, and prevents officers from being rehired in Iowa if they've been convicted of misconduct.
