The Davenport School District is delaying the school year by two weeks.
The year was scheduled to start on August 24th, but the school board announced Tuesday the year will start on September 8th.
"It is our duty as educators and community leaders to ensure a safe, healthy, and secure environment, for not only our student population and their families, but for our teachers and staff," the district said in a statement.
