A Davenport family is safe after their home caught fire early Tuesday morning.
KWQC-TV 6 reports that heavy smoke and flames were coming from the house in the 800 block of Brown Street when crews arrived around 1:30 a.m.
Fire investigators say the fire alarms were working. There is damage to the kitchen and areas where flames spread to other parts of the home.
A van parked outside the house also caught fire. The cause of the fire is not yet known
