The burn ban has been lifted in Scott County as of noon on Wednesday.
The Scott County Emergency Management Agency says the dangers with open burning have been reduced enough to lift the burn ban. Residents are still encouraged to use caution during any open burning though.
The ban was put in place last Thursday due to lack of ground moisture, vegetative debris at this time of the year and increased vegetative debris from the derecho.
