A woman found dead in a Davenport fire on Sunday has been identified.
Investigators say the victim has been identified as 62-year-old Cindy Wilson, of Davenport.
The Davenport Fire Department was called to an apartment complex in the 500 block of West 3rd Street for a fire alarm activation around 5:00 Sunday night. As crews arrived on the scene, they say smoke was found on the 2nd floor main hallway, where sprinkler heads were activated.
The Davenport Fire Marshal says the fire was put out by the sprinkler head, confining smoke damage to the individual apartment. Officials say Wilson was found dead in the apartment.
The fire marshal says neighboring units had minor water damage due to the overhead sprinklers. Residents of the apartment complex were able to return shortly after the fire. An autopsy is scheduled for this week as the fire remains under investigation.
