Illinois Grocery And Gas Taxes Are Expected To Rise On Saturday

Beginning Saturday, July 1, the suspension of two of the state's taxes will end. This will make driving and eating more expensive in the Illinois Quad Cities. The grocery tax is a 1% increase, and the gas tax increase is three cents a gallon.

These are not new taxes, however. The taxes were suspended during the height of inflation last year.
