DES MOINES, Iowa -- Another mostly dry week across the state of Iowa is expanding near-drought conditions, with a couple of areas of actual drought returning.
This week's US Drought Monitor Map from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's National Drought Mitigation Center shows abnormally dry conditions statewide, with small areas of moderate drought in the northeast and southwest corners of Iowa.
Iowa saw a years-long drought end thanks to frequent, heavy rain in late spring and early summer.
This week's drought map does not account for any rain that has fallen or will fall on Thursday.
