(Davenport, IA) -- The developer of a new hotel planned near the Davenport end of the Government Bridge must make the land safe for people and the environment before construction can begin.

That's just one of the amendments to a development agreement approved by City Council last night.

The developer also agrees that the city isn't obligated to put in any flood control, nor is liable for any flood damage.

The $19-million extended-stay hotel and mixed-use space will be located at 3rd Street and River Drive.
