(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa National Guard is deploying airmen and soldiers to the Middle East as part of a partnership with Kosovo. It was announced Major General Stephen Osborn's Condition of the Guard address last week.

"We are working together with the US Department of Defense and the Republic of Kosovo Minister of Defense to co-deploy a KS Infantry platoon of 38 soldiers as part of our second brigade's mission in the Middle East," Osborn says.

He says it's the second, and largest, co-deployment since the partnership began.
