Last month, I was fortunate enough to emcee Bethany For Children & Families Community Celebration. They were recognizing people in the community making extraordinary contributions to the Quad Cities. The Community Champion of the Year was Dr. Kit Evans-Ford. As she accepted her award and shared the story of Argrow's House in Davenport, I knew you had to meet her.
Argrow's House offers free services for local women healing from violence and abuse. They provide a safe space and support for victims domestic violence. It's also a bath and body business where women healing from violence and abuse make wonderful bath products that provide a living wage.
The work that Dr. Evans-Ford is doing is important and soaps/bath products that the women at Argrow's House make are wonderful. If you're still looking for a Christmas gift for someone, consider visiting their website or finding their soaps at a handful of local retail locations around the Quad Cities. You can do good and smell GREAT!
