Roberto Diaz Leads The John Deere Classic After First Round

Roberto Diaz shoots a 9-under 62 to lead after round 1 of the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis. Diaz heads into tomorrow's round 2 with a 2-shot advantage over Adam Long and Russell Hendley. Diaz goes off from the 10th tee at 8:50 a.m. Friday. A half-dozen players are sitting at 6-under. Among that group is Ryan Palmer, winner of this season's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

As for John Deere Classic past champions, Ryan Moore (2016), Brian Harman (2014) and John Senden (2006) are at 4-under, Jonathan Byrd (2007) is at 1-under, Zach Johnson (2012) is at 1-over, and defending champion Michael Kim is 2-over. With Johnson and Kim over par, it should make for an interesting cut day tomorrow.

WOC will have Round 2 leaderboard updates starting after 2 p.m. tomorrow.
