Late yesterday President Trump released a scathing letter sent to the World Health Organization (see below) which apart from anything else, threatens to keep the funding freeze in place permanently.
In it, the President detailed the White House investigation and went through a timeline of the multiple failures of the W.H.O in the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak, and it's apparent bias towards China.
“It is clear the repeated missteps by you and your organization in responding to the pandemic have been extremely costly for the world,” he wrote in the letter to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. “The only way forward for the World Health Organization is if it can actually demonstrate independence from China,” he added.
We in the United States contribute around $450+ million per year to the W.H.O, while China pays around $40 million.
“By the time you finally declared the virus a pandemic on March 11, 2020, it had killed more than 4,000 people and infected more than 100,000 people in at least 114 countries,” the letter read. You can read the whole thing below.
