Mississippi River Crests Causing Street Closures

QUAD CITIES - The Mississippi River in the Quad Cities crested Monday afternoon and that is having an impact on drivers.

KWQC TV6 reports that River Drive in Davenport is closed between Gaines and Myrtle Streets and Pershing Avenue and Perry Street. Eastbound River Drive is currently detoured at Marquette Street. Westbound River Drive is detoured at 4th Street.

In Moline, River Drive is also closed due to water on the road.

The river will remain at flood stage for a few days, possibly through the end of the month before it again falls. The river crested at 17.31 feet.
