Three Arrested After Fire Alarm Goes Off In Burlington Motel

BURLINGTON, Iowa - Three arrests were made after a fire alarm at the Super 8 Motel in Burlington went off around 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

KWQC TV6 reports when police arrived the room was empty but they found recently used narcotics. That could have set off the alarm.

While officers were in the room, those who had rented it returned. Two of them had outstanding warrants.

A police dog was used to search the suspect's vehicle and detected narcotics. Police searched the vehicle and found a large amount of methamphetamine and gun inside.

30 year old Jacob Hogberg of Denmark, Iowa is charged with possession with intent to deliver meth, failure to affix drug tax stamp, carrying weapons, possession of a short barrel shotgun and possession of a firearm by a felon.

32 year old Tyler Jennings of Montrose, Iowa was arrested on a Lee County warrant.

33 year old Kathy Conard of West Burlington was arrested on a warrant out of Des Moines County.

More arrests are pending as the investigation continues.
