EAST MOLINE, Illinois - There are changes coming to the Margaret Stutsman Lodge operated by the Rock Island County Council on Addictions The facility is undergoing a renovation to make it handicap accessible and to make more home-like improvements.
KWQC TV6 reports while work is underway they will stop accepting women to the facility. Officials there say they are currently transitioning women out of the center. Executive Director Mary Engholm tells TV6 these women are at a point where they can be released.
The Stutsman Lodge is a 32 bed halfway house for women. RICCA treats both men and women. The 37 bed Carl Stutsman Lodge houses men and that will remain open.
