Bettendorf Man Accused Of Secretly Videotaping Women Pleads Not Guilty

BETTENDORF, Iowa - A not guilty plea from a Davenport West High School teacher accused of secretly recording women in his home.

KWQC TV6 reports Clinton Van Fossen filed a written plea through his attorney Thursday. He is charged with five counts of invasion of privacy, preventing apprehension and obstructing justice and electronic or mechanical eavesdropping.

Bettendorf Police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a teenage girl had been filmed, likely without her knowledge at Van Fossen's home, according to an arrest affidavit. Investigators say there does not appear to be any minor victims.

Bettendorf Police found two cameras that looked like smoke detectors inside Van Fossen's home on January 7th. That investigation led to videos taken in October showing Van Fossen looking at his cell phone and then manually adjusted the camera.

Investigators say Van Fossen also bought a new cell phone a few hours after he talked to police. The affidavit says his other phone has never been found.
