Fifth Coronavirus Case In Illinois

ILLINOIS - There is a fifth case of coronavirus in Illinois.

KWQC TV6 reports officials with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Cook County Department of Public Health say the patient is in his 20's who flew to O'Hare Airport in Chicago earlier this month after traveling in Italy.

That person is now hospitalized at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He is in stable condition. The CDC has not yet said of he has tested positive.

The Illinois Department of Public Health continues to work with local, state and federal health partners to limit the spread of the virus. Governor JB Pritzker says the state is also working hard to help educate the public about COVID-19. He says the risk to the public in Illinois remains low but they encourage residents to remain vigilant.

Illinois Public Health Director, Dr. Ngoze Ezike says the state has four labs to speed up testing.
