Missouri Valley Women's Basketball Conference Is A Go

MOLINE, Illinois - The Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament will go on as planned March 12th through the 15th.

KWQC TV6 reports that officials with the conference say this is consistent with advice of local health authorities, TaxSlayer Center and Visit Quad Cities. Officials go on to say everyone will be taking strong preventative measures in the arena and hotels. They are also opening up sections in the upper bowl to provide more social distancing for fans at the arena.

The TaxSlayer Center released a statement saying they are monitoring the coronavirus situation carefully and there are no plans now to cancel any events. They ask those with flu-like symptoms avoid coming inside the building. They will have hand sanitizer stations throughout the building and staff will be wiping down railings, handlers and other public areas.

Visit Quad Cities continues to welcome visitors and encourages residents to continue to shop, dine out and drink at local establishments. All businesses, venues, shops and restaurants remain open.
