Illinois Reports 32 Confirmed Coronavirus Cases As Of Thursday

ILLINOIS - There are seven additional cases of coronavirus in Illinois. That brings the total number to 32.

KWQC TV6 reports officials say approximately 29% of the cases are connected to travel, 44% are a contact with another person with coronavirus and the remaining cases do not have a clear connection point.

IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike says, “The virus is here in Illinois. While it may not be in your community now, we anticipate it will be eventually. We all need to take action now by postponing large events and restricting visits to nursing homes to limit the spread." Dr. Ezike says this is change day by day and hour by hour.

About 94% of those with the virus are in isolation at home or in a hospital. There have been no deaths associated with coronavirus in Illinois.

Comcast is doubling internet speeds for low income individuals nationwide. There will also be 60 days of free internet service for those individuals.
