Property Tax Deadline Extended In Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa - There is good news for homeowners in Scott County.

KWQC TV6 reports the Scott County Board of Supervisors voted to extend the grace period for property taxes. Homeowners who haven't yet paid their property taxes for March now have until April 30th. After that an interest penalty will apply. This is for only Scott County residents.

This is in response to Governor Kim Reynolds' Disaster Emergency Declaration that extended the interest deadline through April 16th for all counties. The declaration was issued in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
