Appointments Needed At Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center

QUAD CITIES - The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is making changes due to the outbreak of COVID-19 coronavirus.

KWQC TV6 reports donors now have to make an appointment instead of just walking in to centers. MVRBC says they need to limit walk-in donations to help staff at donation centers manage the flow of people and to maintain social distancing between staff and the public.

MVRBC also expanded their hours and plan more blood mobiles due to the cancellation of blood drives.

Donors will be screened for symptoms and must complete a history questionnaire before giving blood. Signs are posted at the facilities asking people to stay away if they have symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive to COVID-19 coronavirus. Staff will be asking questions to donors when they call to schedule an appointment.

Those who wish to donate can call (800) 747-5401 or schedule online at by clicking here.
