Confirmed COVID-19 Coronavirus Case At Rock Island Arsenal

IA COVID Case: Rock Island, Illinois - An employee at the Rock Island Arsenal has tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus.

KWQC TV6 reports the employee was assigned to the Army Sustainment Command and was tested at a local community facility. The person last worked on March 19th. All persons who had contact with that employee were directed to go home and self-quarantine. The employee's workstation and area has been sealed and will be deep cleaned. Arsenal leadership is also working to identify who that employee may have been in contact over the past two weeks.

Col. Stephen Marr, US Army Garrison Rock Island Arsenal Commander says they are closely monitoring developments that may impact personnel and their mission.

The Rock Island Arsenal put new regulations into place on Tuesday as to who will be allowed into the facility. Many employees are now working through teleservices off site.
