Eight shot, one dead at after hours club in Waterloo, Iowa Saturday

One person is dead after eight were shot at an after hours club in Waterloo early Saturday morning, Police say at least 12 people are hurt, four of them injured while trying to escape.

A call came in just after 3:00 a.m. of shots being fired, and officers already near 401 West Fourth Street confirmed the shooting at an after hours club there.

Eight people were shot, and four others were hurt by debris, broken glass, or injured while trying to flee the shooting.

At first police reported two people in critical condition. Later Saturday morning, police reported one of them died, and one more remained critical.

Investigators say they believe there was some sort of confrontation at the club before the shooting, but they are still piecing together details.
